Summary of report 2020

This illustrate main activities carried out during the year 2020 of the project implementation in kawinga project area.
Under Crop production, a total of 37 bags each weighing 70kg of maize were realized in the 2019 to 2020 growing season.
Under Nursery School program, a total of 293 children enrolled into our schools this year and we have 12 teachers for this program.
On free school fees program for secondary students, a total of 8 students are on this program (2 doing form four while 6 are in form three).

Report from May to July 2019

Bee Keeping Program

For the period of May to July 2019, the project planned to monitor the performance of the program so as to produce more honey, find markets for the honey.

So far for the program is going on very well as honey producing period has started in the centers. Nsadi has realized 25 bottles of honey this month of July and Naktepa has also harvested their honey but not yet processed. So a total of 103 bottles has been collected since last year, and we are expecting to have more money from this program.

Report from February to April 2016

The Zikomo project in the Kawinga district has the purpose of improving household and nursery school food security through increased agriculture productivity along with the conservation and restoration of natural resource base.

OBJECTIVES

- Increase and diversify crop production and productivity.
- Improve access to agricultural inputs.
- Promote development of co-operative and Rural Youth in the working areas.
- Promote livestock production /productivity.
- Promote Gender Mainstreaming into program activities.

Report from March 2015 retorspective

This report highlights the progress achieved against plans, issues and challenges encountered during the implementation of the project activities since 2008 at Matande center in Zomba District. It also comes up with recommendations to achieve the best results in the near future.

1. RESOURCE CENTER
Zikomo CBO was started with the construction of its Resource center in August 2008 and was completed in September in 2009. The project spent over k2.5 million on it. This resource centre is 18mx9m and can accommodate 300 people.

INTRODUCTION

This report covers the activities carried out both in Zomba and Machinga districts by Zikomo project from the June to mid July 2013.

1. CROP PRODUCTION SWEET POTATO
The project facilitated the harvesting of sweet potato crop at Matande center during the period. The project has managed to harvest a huge amount of products from small piece of land. This program is for Nursery school children. The products are equivalent to k11,000.00 Malawi kwacha. See the picture of the products.

REPORT OF JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2013

INTRODUCTION

Zikomo projects are located in Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba District and Kawinga Traditional Authority in Machinga District. This report covers the activities planned and the achievements made during this period in these two project areas.

REPORT

1. SENSITIZATION / AWARENESS MEETINGS
The project planned to conduct 12 meetings during the period. So far a total of 10 meetings were conducted. These meetings were aimed at encouraging the beneficiaries to take full responsibilities in all the activities that are carrying out in their centers. The turn up in all these meetings were quite encouraging, See some of the pictures captured during these meetings.
